Sticks & Stones

"Sticks & Stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me". This saying was and is used as a defense against name-calling and verbal bullying, intended to increase resiliency, avoid physical retaliation and remain calm....the saying itself is so far from the truth. The Word of God teaches us different. Proverbs 18:21 states that "Death and life are in the power of the tongue"...Colossians 4:6 - "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt"...and a favorite of mine...Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen". Today I am making a conscious effort to be careful of the things that I say. Please join me and do the same.
