Trusting Your Paths

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And He shall direct thy paths. These are key verses in this chapter. A promise to God's people. The words "Trust" and "Lean" are working together - Trust in verse 5 means "to lie helpless, facedown." When we trust God it is like "Leaning on a tree for support". Verse 7 in this same chapter cautions us. "Do not be wise in your own eyes". We are to trust Him, no matter how things may look, no matter how we may feel, no matter what our friends or families may say - Trust Him! When we miss the caution in verse 7 of this text - we may find ourselves going down the wrong paths, making detours that were unnecessary, road blocks (feeling stuck in one place too long)and set backs. When we rely on our wisdom (become wise in our own eyes); we may find ourselves in grave danger, deep despair - headed for trouble. Today I encourage you to Trust God - in all your ways.
